Musical Camps

The FHOSQ partners with music camps across Quebec to increase access to ensemble music participation, support the development of emerging musicians, and foster the growth of young talent throughout the province.

What are the objectives of this initiative?

Through this initiative, the FHOSQ recognizes the essential contribution of its affiliated and accredited music camps to the development of Quebec’s emerging musicians. The program aims to support young artists in their musical growth while strengthening ties between the Festival, partner camps, and the broader music community.

Its objectives are to:

Provide professional development scholarships to award recipients in support of their artistic advancement.
Encourage continued musical learning within a high-quality and recognized training environment.
Create additional opportunities for performance, collaboration, and musical exchange beyond the school setting.
Showcase emerging talent by offering meaningful opportunities for artistic growth and visibility.
Recognize the contribution of partner music camps to the accessibility and excellence of music education in Quebec.

What are the eligibility criteria for music camps?

To be eligible for the program, a partner music camp must be affiliated with the FHOSQ and meet recognized standards of educational quality and musical training.

The camp must:

Receive operating support from the Québec Ministry of Culture and Communications as an arts training organization.
Offer ensemble music programs aligned with FHOSQ activities.
Provide daily ensemble music activities.
Deliver high-quality instruction, including private lessons or individual coaching led by qualified teaching staff.
Maintain active FHOSQ membership in good standing.
Provide an environment that fosters the artistic and musical development of participants.
